I've been on the hunt for the best journals for writing, and my top pick has to be the Leuchtturm1917. The pages are surprisingly smooth and the paper weight handles fountain pens without bleeding through. I also like the Moleskine classic for its portability, but the Leuchtturm's numbered pages and table of contents make it easier to track my thoughts.
